Teachers Information Sheet
For those teachers who have not previously visited the museum, this information sheet may be of assistance to you.
1) Our museum may seem small to the newcomer but it is in fact much larger than it appears and we can accommodate up to
50 in one group.
(2) We cater mainly for children ranging in age from 5 to 12 years and the educational talk which we give can be adjusted
to the individual requirements of each group.
(3) As the dolls and toys (dating mainly from c.2000 B.C. to c.1950) have all been acquired from their original owners
or descendants there is a wealth of stories and histories attached to them, and it is through telling some of these stories
that the children will learn. We can supply a work and answer sheet which may be used in conjunction with the educational
talk if you wish.
(4) We are highly recommended by regular schools and it is advisable to make an early reservation to avoid disappointment
as we become booked very quickly on certain days. We can accommodate you at any time, including evenings.
(5) We suggest you allow approximately 1 1/4 hours for your visit.
(6) We have an adjoining gift/collectors shop which stocks many unusual and interesting items at reasonable prices (and
remember this is open during evening visits).
2007 prices: £1.15 per person (2 teachers admitted free of charge).
